IonfashIon: Norwich Fashion Week Launch Show 2013

Last night after getting home from work later than expected (and also a quick nap) I got ready as quickly as I could for the Launch Show of Norwich Fashion Week 2013. Norwich Fashion Week is designed to show off what Norwich has to offer fashion wise; through the retailers such as Jarrolds and John Lewis, the students at NUA and CCN as well as the independent stores that have their homes in the medieval lanes of Norwich.

I wore my new print trousers from H&M along with a dark grey slub t-shirt from Primark. I had also made a small clutch bag from the turquoise faux leather that mum had left from when she had done her car up. Unfortunately I ended being in such a rush (should only have had an hour nap instead of two) I didn't manage to snap any photos of my outfit but have got this:
I want to live in these trousers, as they are so comfortable and look amazing on. I think I need more print trousers.

The Launch Show featured set from shops such as Vanilla, Ginger, Nola, Love Couture, John Lewis showed some items from the Somerset by Alice Temperley, Jarrold and a few others.

Here are some snaps taken on my iPhone, I will link to some of my favourite looks on the Norwich Evening News website.

Love the print trousers from Vanilla
Stunning red dress from the Somerset by Alice Temperley collection
I love the detailing on the sleeves of this Somerset by Alice Temperley. The hair also reminds me of the Marc by Marc Jacobs Autumn/Winter 2013 look. Very deconstructed 40's
This mustard skirt from Nola.

Jarrold womenswear featured an incredible printed blazer which I only got one horrible blurred photo from and nothing else. But that whole set was styled incredibly, it had these subtle Lolita influences wouldn't you agree?

I really enjoyed my evening at the launch show and it is only through the efforts of everyone; who organised it, worked it and took part in it, that the whole show was a wonderfully slick professional evening.

Tonight I'm going to be at the Norwich Lanes Fashion show, but more about that tomorrow, for now I need to get ready and most importantly eat something.

Going back to Hogwarts

As it was my sister's birthday on the 25th of December I bought her tickets to the Warner Brother Studio Tour as we are both huge Harry Potter fans. So on the 19th of February I drove the both of us down to Watford to have a fun filled day. It was absolutely glorious weather which made the whole drive even more enjoyable.  I made a whole three hour long playlist for the journey, which was much appreciated. Obviously we took tonnes of photos so I'll post a few here:

It was an entirely magical -pun intended- day with my favourite gal. It was reakky interesting to see all the behind the scenes of the making of the films and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in both the Harry Potter series and the behind the scenes of any films.

Sale Purchases

I do have to warn you that I didn't buy all that much as there wasn't all that much where I thought, "Oh I need this in my life." But I did pick up a few things which I wanted to show you.

I bought the t-shirt from ASOS, it is just a knitted boxy t-shirt which is lovely and slouchy and looks lovely with skinny jeans and a blazer. I believe that was £5.50 and can still be found in a few sizes here
Next up is this headband from Primark which was £1.00. I picked this up because it both reminds me of vertebrae and leaves. What do you know, eh?
Then I bought these navy slipper shoes for £4.00 also from Primark. I liked these because they are really simple and go with pretty much everything that I wear regularly. I am tempted to see whether they have anymore in different colours. That was the last of the clothes/accessories that I bought the other two items are both makeup.

First we have this beautiful highlighter from Lancome, which I got for £17.00 down from £34.00. This is in the colour 001 Moonlight Rose. This is not available anymore, so was probably part of a collection. I absolutely love the colour and the subtle shimmer it gives, it's the perfect highlighter for my skin colour and tone.

Finally I also bought an Eyebrow pencil from Lancome, Le Crayon Sourcils Pro in the colour 02 Brun Cuivre. This not only has a brush as well as the coloured end, it also has an end which is just wax to fully set the brows in place. It is a great match for my eyebrows and works well as it is so quick and easy to use.
That is all I bought in the January Sales. I don't know about you guys but I found myself underwhelmed with the selection this year, and I also found my eyes already looking at the the New Season stock that was coming in. So maybe there will be a cheeky purchase or two.

Southwold Road Trip 06/01/13

Last time I talked about wanting to make things happen. And on the sixth I did. For a few weeks now I've wanted to go for a longer drive than just picking my sister up from various events, or driving to and from work. I persuaded my sister to come along, so we took the hour long drive to Southwold. I did take along my camera to take a few photos. Which I will share with you.

We had an absolute blast, and were incredibly lucky with the weather as when we got to Southwold it was very sunny and so so beautiful. But after we got a bite to eat it got very foggy but we did have to leave anyway. I didn't take too many photos as my camera ran out of battery.

Here's to making more things like this happen.

2013 - Making it Happen

It's a new year, and I hope all of you had a safe and happy change, making it the perfect time to look ahead to things to come. This year instead of having a list of resolutions that I make but always forget within a week, or at least until summer when I suddenly remember all the things I had planned. This year I'm going to MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!! By this I mean that all the things that I want to do, the things I dream about and all the things I put off; I'm going to do them, or set about making sure they can happen.

I don't know about you but I'm someone who can put off everything and then regret that I didn't do anything that I wanted to do when I had the chance to. In short I need to stop standing in my own way.

Some things that I want to do but always put off is applications for jobs and other things. This year I'm going to make an effort to apply to jobs that I like the look of, regardless of whether I feel I might not be right for them or not.

I'm also going to make an effort to try and exercise, and stop putting it off with reasons such as that I'm too tired and don't have enough. I'm sure there is at least a half hour every day to do something.

I'm going to try and talk to people more. Sometimes I just need to overcome the shyness that I seem to have when it comes to new people and just talk to them, I've made some amazing friends when I have so only good can come of it.

Basically if I want something to happen, I'm going to make it happen and not just wait for it to magically fall into my lap, that may feel easier but never will be as rewarding as anything else in life.
